The company further expanded from five to nine factories and set up an All Women’s Unit for carpet tufting, thus setting the foundation for fair and sustainable business practices.
Focused expansion to new regions like Australia, Japan, South America and the Middle East. The company was awarded ‘Preferred Supplier for William Sonoma Inc’, and became the first global home textiles factory to be Fair Trade Certified.
The company’s vision became more focused towards sustainability and conscious manufacturing. They were certified for cotton, wool, nylon, polyester and all natural materials.
Today Raj’s factories harness solar energy, recycle waste water, harvest rain water and are working towards being a zero waste enterprise.
